St. Francis College in Sao Paulo is an international school that strives for excellence and provides the solid foundation for passionate life long learning. We empower pupils within a warm and friendly community to become proactive and responsible citizens of the world by fostering moral and intellectual autonomy.
The international curriculum offered to our student body of approximately 700 students is taught in English. An important element in the curriculum is the Portuguese language subjects which include Brazilian literature, Portuguese language as well as the history and geography of Brazil. A broad approach of concept based learning will also encompass the humanities, arts, sciences, mathematics, and information technology.
The formal curriculum at St. Francis College is guided by the Brazilian and British National Curriculum and the IB Programmes. The College provides pupils with academic challenge and key life skills in a flexible and transdisciplinary programme. Throughout the primary school we offer the IB PYP and in the secondary school we offer the IB MYP and the IB Diploma Programme in the last two years. IGCSE exams are also offered in the main subjects in Year 10. Pupils will conclude their secondary education having also obtained their Brazilian Studies diploma.
