Information we collect from our users
When you join TeacherPort you provide us with your name and email address. Our users then have the option of providing information that will allow for a completed TeacherPort CV, which is more attractive to potential Employers. This information includes, nationality, date of birth, photograph, education background, work experience, introduction about themselves, phone number, additional information and interests.
Some Employers request other information to be included in applications, so we give our users to option of uploading a number of additional documents, which can be upload to their CV page. These documents include a personalized CV, copies of education documents, cover letter, or passport copy.
How we use information we collect from our users
We use the information that you submit to TeacherPort to provide the services we offer. You have full control over what Employers can view your information on our Website. When you apply for a job that has been posted by an Employer, or mark an Employer as a Preferred Employer, the information on your CV is available to the Employer who you have initiated action to. Your information is not accessible or available to any other Teachers on TeacherPort and no Employer has access to your information unless you initiate the action (i.e. applying for a job or marking an Employer as a Preferred Employer). Your CV is also not accessible to the public and non-users, as we appreciate that a CV is a personal document and you should have full control over who has access to your CV.
Your photograph and name might show up as a New Teacher on TeacherPort for Employers when they log in, but they will not have access to view your CV.
Users can upload other information as ‘Additional Documents’ to be included with their CV. These documents follow the same privacy guidelines as your CV. Only Employers who you have marked as a Preferred Employer, or Employers whose job you have applied for, will have the ability to view these documents.
Based on the information you provide on your CV, we can inform you about jobs that you are qualified for, which will show up in the ‘Recommended Jobs’ of your homepage when you are signed in. The jobs that you receive under ‘My Job Alerts’ are based on your preferences that you set when you edit ‘My Job Preferences’ and do not rely on the information that you have submitted in your profile.
From the information you submit on your CV, we are able to inform Employers if you are suitable for the job they are posting on TeacherPort. This leads to a quicker candidate screening process and means decisions about Teacher applications are made in less time and more efficiently. This benefits both the Employers and the Teachers who use our Website.
We may use personal information in order to contact you about participating in a TeacherPort survey or ask for your involvement in other things we will post on the TeacherPort blog, such as an interview or guest blog posting.
